Pilot: bombed railway at Domfront

The 7th of june 1944 Lt Robert Milliken, in company with Major Glass, Capt Cobb, Lt Munger,Lt Roddicks, Lt Edmonds, Lt Nolby, Lt O’Neilh, Castel & Reitz had the mission of bombing the bridge carrying the railway line through Domfront from Caen to Laval. They were flying 938s, a double fuselaged fighter-bomber.
German troop movements had been reportred on this line bringing in reinforcements. The bridge wasn’t destoyed in the atack but the line was put out of use till the end of the battle of Normandy.
Robert Millikin came back to visit Domfront in 2003 at the age of 81. He was moved to visit this place he’d attacked so long ago.
