Saturday 1 august 2001, in the late afternoon, a group of twenty or so were at the Eustis monument. at "La Guérousière" to pay hommage to lieutenant Morton Eustis.
He was mortally wounded during the liberation of Domfront on the 13th august 1944. The american lieutenant was hit whilst in his tank that was at the place where the monument has been erected.
The monument is on the RN 176 between Domfront and St Mars d’Egrene.

Aongst the colors of Passais, St Mars d’Egrenne and Domfront were Mme Gilbert, deputy mayor of St Mars d’Egrene, Raymond Levannier and Maurice Olivier the presidents of the veterans associations of Domfront and Passais.
Two wreaths were placed, one by Cyrill Lazareff, representing "Le publicateur Libre" (the local paper) and the other by Claude Lecherbonnier, Mayor of Passais.
